LIVE SPINDLE TITAN - VERTICAL BORING MILL TVB LS 1450/1650 CNC/MSF 01/01, belongs to the newly developed generation of Vertical Boring Mills with one single rail head for turning, milling, drilling, threading, tapping, boring and grinding operations and a 30-station ATC with two levels and it has been designed for machining the medium sized revolution work pieces, by both roughing and finishing operations.

 

A GE FANUC CNC unit – 21iTB type, controls the machine tool on three (3)-working axes:

  • "X" axis - high accuracy horizontal travel of the rail head

  • "Z" axis - high accuracy vertical travel of the rail head ram;

  • "C" axis - rotary table indexing operation through the "Cs" function of the main motor

The new design of the disk type automatic tool changer with two levels and located on the floor allows the accommodation of 30 tool-holders. A pneumatically actuated metallic cover protects the automatic tool changer.

The Vertical Power Line of the machine consists of a GE Fanuc 37/45 kW AC brushless electric motor, a vertical gearbox made by ZF, with two range speed gearbox.

Another new element is the transmission of the motion from the gearbox to the rotary table accomplished by means of a pair of timing pulley and a toothed belt.

When milling, the "Cs" function of the main motor ensures the indexing.

The measuring system consists of very accurate absolute scales with 5μ resolution, for the vertical and horizontal axes and a very accurate encoder for “C” axis.

The hydraulic equipment ensures the following functions: ram balancing, main bearing and turning gearbox lubrication, milling gearbox lubrication, cross rail locking and indexing, turning tool-holder locking/unlocking, milling tool-holder locking/unlocking and the actuation of the indexers of the automatic tool changer.

The machine is also provided with internal and external tool cooling system.

The machine is fully surrounded by an enclosure.
